Panel Discussion on Regional Differences & Expansion for Fiscal Intermediaries
As fiscal intermediaries grow and expand into new regions throughout New York State, it is inevitable that they will encounter new challenges during the process. This panel discussion, featuring Sean Mulvey (Burd Home Health) and Anthony Caputo (Concepts of Independence), will cover a range of topics – from cultural differences upstate vs. downstate and urban vs. rural, wage parity, EVV, contracting and more.
This session is relevant to any Lead FI, Collaborating Partner or stakeholder who is interested in discussing “growing pains” and the realities of expanding their consumer base and service area.
Sean Mulvey is Business Developer at Burd Home Health since 2019. His main roles at our company include contracting, networking, referral management, state expansion, and relationship building. Burd Home Health’s geographic service footprint covers almost the entire state.
Anthony Caputo has been involved with Concepts CDPAS since 1993 (28 years), both as an outside CPA (9 years) and as the CEO (19 years). Concepts serves 30 counties in New York State. Mr. Caputo is familiar with both unique downstate CDPAS operations (i.e., wage parity, etc.) and unique upstate CDPAS operations in both rural and urban settings.
Katherine Murray, Principal
CDPAANYS is excited to welcome Katherine Murray, Principal at Applied Self-Direction, who will provide an overview of policy updates from Congress and the Biden administration that affect Medicaid, HCBS, and consumer-directed services–including the latest on Electronic Visit Verification (EVV). The session will also cover the impact of COVID-19 on demand for consumer-directed services, and analyze how the pandemic will continue to shape consumer-directed services in the years to come. Time for Q&A will be included.
Understanding the RFO: Contracts, Changes & More
Bond, Schoeneck & King Attorneys
Please join us to hear from Hermes Fernandez from Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC on Understanding the RFO: Contracts, Changes, and more. There is no current topic more pressing than the Department of Health’s Request for Offers and its dramatic impact on the future of Consumer Directed Personal Assistance in New York.
We encourage all fiscal intermediaries to book a spot in this training and learn the facts about the awards & appeal process, contracting, and the new budgetary changes that will increase the number of awards given by the State.
