I am 24 years old and have been living with a form of muscular dystrophy since birth. I have a trache, vent, gtube, and other various medical devices in which I need assistance managing. Up until a few years ago, I had 24/7 private duty nursing. When I was 19, I decided to make the switch from nursing to CDPAP.. it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and has made me a much more independent person. I am passionate about disability rights and advocacy. Last year, I participated in two NYS listening sessions about EVV. Last year, I marched in the NYC disability pride parade. Along with that, I attended many other advocacy events. Serving on the board of CDPAANYS would be an incredible opportunity. I know what it’s like to be a consumer, I know what needs improving, I know what changed need to be made, and it would be and honor to be apart of the development of this program.
