Webinar Alert! Community First Choice and CDPA: What We Know
Please join CDPAANYS and Bruce Darling of the Center for Disability Rights for a webinar on July 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM EST.
New York has received approval for a new State Plan Amendment adopting Community First Choice (CFC).
CFC is different in the fact that it is not a program, but a collection of services aimed at helping keep individuals who are otherwise eligible for an institution in the community. The program combines traditional services such as CDPA and personal care with other services such as supervision and cuing, transportation, assistive devices and even home and vehicle modifications – to name a few.
CFC has the potential to revolutionize community-based long term supports and services – and CDPA can be at the center of it all.
This webinar will focus on the basics of CDPA. What is CDPA? What services are included in the amendment? What makes this program different from the way these services were offered before?
Bruce Darling of the Center for Disability Rights, who worked on this legislation in Washington and continues to play a role in its implementation here in New York as a member of the State’s Development and Implementation Committee will review the basics of CFC and answer any questions.
This will be the first of multiple webinars that CDPAANYS will hold on this topic. This session is free of charge and open to the public.
