LAST CHANCE to call your Assembly members to #FUNDFREEDOM

We all know that Consumer Directed Personal Assistance relies on people being able to hire and keep workers they trust to not only perform varying levels of services for them; but, to bring into their homes and into their lives. This means that when potential workers can get paid more in less labor intensive jobs like Wal-Mart or McDonald’s, the entire future of CDPA is threatened.

Add to this the new challenges faced by some managed care companies who do not care about the model, only their profits. One company just reduced reimbursement to fiscal intermediaries by over $2/hour. When asked, an employee of this plan said, “Just pay them minimum wage.”

We cannot let this stand.

If you haven’t already, call your Assembly Member and ask them to support CDPA by signing Assembly Member Weprin’s letter calling for higher reimbursement and higher wages. Click here to find out who your Assembly Member is.

The following members have already signed the letter. Call them and say thank you. If your member is not on this list, they have until 2 pm TODAY, February 26, to sign on.
